Rounding April with the Circus

The Piccadilly Circus came to town, so we had to go.
Matt was out of town, but we made the best of his 9-day absence :)
Ramsey loves Hunter--he is Beck's age.

Beck had mixed feelings about the whole thing.  Mostly he enjoyed it.

Ramsey thought it was great!

The zebras...

The amazing Asian dude that could balance a giant vase on his head and spin it all around his arms, etc....

The tightrope walker...even though he did actually fall.  He wasn't hurt though.

The crew, sans Beck.  Ramsey, Jolie, Cal, Will, Allie, Anna, and Leah.

Camels were a little rough and shaggy, but well-trained.

The elephants had great tricks!

Beck, tuckered out.

Ramsey pretending to be tuckered out.

Bella's impromptu snuggle with Blue Doggie and pals.

Ramsey in the (very messy) playroom in full sass-mode.  Look at those hands on her hips!

Grrrrrrr.....

Since we had a weekend without Daddy, we had to stay busy.  We took the train to DC and went to the Asian Art Museum.  I loved it.

Beck wasn't into standing on the train, he preferred the stroller (for seriously ONCE in his life).
Beck wanted to draw like Ramsey.

Ramsey felt inspired on the train and drew some amazing stuff.

Here she is in the Art Museum, inspired again.

There was this cool touch screen information center, and the kids played with it for a LONG time.

This is a big no-no, but we got away with it.  When the cat's away (Matt), the mice will play (me).

Throwing coins into the fountain.

There was this amazing kids' exhibit in the basement of the museum--Ramsey is trying out the snowboarding video game.  It was tough :)

Rock climbing...we didn't get very far.

Some kind of flight simulation video game.

Bedtime reading in Ramsey's room.

I gave blood for the first time in my life.  I used to be so, so freaked out by needles.  After my MRSA-induced hospital stay that included a constant IV in 2008, I'm pretty much over it.  Desensitized.  Plus it was for a good cause, because I got to give blood in someone's name--a 16-year-old boy at church that was hospitalized for leukemia.  He is now in remission, woo-hoo!  He turned 17 during his treatment, so several people gave blood in his name on his birthday.

This is weird, I know.  Ramsey and I just finished watching March of the Penguins, and we were pretending like I was the Mommy penguin feeding the baby penguins (yes, regurgitating food :)

PJ reading with a kung-fu grip on his car.  He loves matchbox cars...like father, like son.

Looking for bugs.  There were a lot of worms and roly-polies.
