Flashback March

The beginning of March brought...breathing problems and a stomach virus.  One right after another.  Both were fairly brief luckily.

Lots of TV, with the couch covered by a sheet.

Lots of messes.  And sibling bonding.

At least I got some cuddles.

The pictures on our front window.  These are Matt's estate sale finds (except the middle one).

Play-doh fun.

Ramsey likes to put all of her creations on the window.

Ramsey and her pal Maggie, living it up on the counter.

Decorations for a baby shower I threw for a friend, Becca.

This cake was crazy good.  A Jenny McArthur creation.

The proud mom-to-be.

The kids enjoying some chocolate cake the day after the shower.

I've been trying to get the kids to be as interested in bugs as I was as a kid.  I don't want to get ahead of myself, but it might be working!!!

Look Mom, a roly-poly!

Dinner time.  Spaghetti dinner is always a hit.

We love this yogurt ranch dressing.  It makes veggies delicious.

Matt and I went to St. Michael's on the Chesapeake Bay for our first night away without the kids.

It was so beautiful, and the weather was gorgeous.

Yummy dinner with a handsome guy.

We went shopping and found a cute toy shop, where we picked up some gifts for the kids.

Bedtime story.  This kid is cool.

Poor Beck hurt his nose against hte back fence--I didn't see it happen, but he told me he fell into the fence.

It looked like his nose was broken.

Beck was so upset, it took a long time for him to calm down, which is very uncharacteristic for him.  Ramsey read to him for 20 minutes, no exaggeration.

Enjoying the field near our house.

Beck's nose several days later.  Bruised and swollen.  The doc said there was nothing we could do except try to put ice on it and give Tylenol for any pain.  He didn't complain about it after it happened, and insisted it didn't hurt, but I think it did.  Tough kid.

The Miller cousins came into town for Ilse's baptism.  Here Cassy and Iris are enjoying that same field with Beck and Ramsey.

Ramsey and Beck set up a doctor's office.

Ilse put on a play as part of her birthday celebration at our house.  It was so fun!  We had pizza, opened presents, and celebrated all things Ilse.  Grandma and Grandpa were there, along with the Millers.

Here's Ilse cuddling in with her dad at her baptism.  It was beautiful and very spiritual.  It made me reflect on my baptism back in 2004 and how grateful I am for this sacred ceremony.  The gospel is true!

Flashback February

Ramsey's note to her friend Sarah, she did it all by herself.

School days.  Beck loves to do things himself.  It's beautiful, usually.

Beck and I had a morning together, just the two of us, and he wanted to play a game.

He was very much in charge.

Family time at the Baltimore Aquarium.

Momma and Beck, see the resemblance?

Daddy and Ramsey, see the resemblence?

We LOVED the aquarium.  Aquatic life is so breathtaking.

Matt is in awe....

Mandatory shoulder ride.

That's how much fun we had!

Ramsey wasn't so tired--she was invigorated!

"Take a picture of me and Bella."

Beauty.

We had a "meet your teacher" dinner at church, pjs and all.  Ramsey's primary class, CTR 4 with Sister Kitchen and Sister Peshketari, did a performance and Ramsey was great.  Also, Ramsey is so into choosing her own outfits and is very confident about her fashion sense.  It's the best.

Here they are in the audience.

The craft table at the Vienna Moms Saturday puppet show.  Ramsey got to catch up with her pal Avery.

We love to celebrate National Pancake Day!  Free stack of pancakes at IHOP and we get to donate the difference to the charity of their choice.  This year the cause was children's leukemia, which is near and dear to our hearts as a friend's son, Spencer Goold, is in the middle of his fight against leukemia.

Ramsey colored this picture for Aunt Laura, and insisted I send it to Laura via email.  Clever!
