November 2011

Beck got his first "real" haircut at Cartoon Cuts.  It was amazing!...
I made the appointment for the earliest one possible (9:30A), and it was empty.  It was great.  The hairstylist said, "do you like Dora?"  and that was the end of it.  Not a peep out of either child.  She offered to wash his hair, but he wasn't interested and we didn't push it.  I couldn't make myself get Ramsey's hair cut too.  It is so long, but those curls on the end are amazing and I'm afraid they won't grow back.  Someday she'll get a haircut!

At the park...
I love how Ramsey pulls Beck in (below).  She is so "in charge" these days and Beck is generally tolerant of the bossiness.  He does scream (very loudly) if he is upset.  He has been known to say things like "don't take my Squinkies, Ramsey.  It's not nice."  Love it :)

Virginia in the fall...
Our favorite park is gorgeous in the fall.  Meadow Lane Park is the best.

 With Sarah.

With Jacey--the kids love hiding in this toy basket from Mimi.

Ramsey's writing and artistic touch...

Ramsey with her puppet show.  She was SO proud, and we love her creativity.

She still loves arranging things in a pleasing way.  Her room can be chaotic, but she has things organized in a way that works for her.

Ramsey made this for Dad's day at preschool.  Ramsey and Dad could not attend :( but it was okay.

My "art"--dinner on the fly.  It was GOOD.

Matt's "art"--shopping at estate sales and arranging his knick-knacks.  He and Ramsey are in a silent competition to win the "arranging" feud.  They both have strong opinions (none expressed verbally of course) about how and where these items should be arranged.  It is very entertaining.  This stuff is always moving around the house.

School pics...

What else have we been doing?...
I know, I know.  They'll hate me.  But I couldn't help it.  Bathtime is hilarious and hectic.

Reading Charlie Brown's Christmas.  Wet har and footie pajamas.  Beck rarely wears footie pajamas and has very specific pajama requests.  Ramsey does not and wears basically whatever.

 Playing in puddles.

Since it gets dark at 4:30P, I thought it would be fun to go on walk in the rain with flashlights.  It was so fun to throw caution to the wind (well not really, it was warm and I had an umbrella).

Poor Beck busted his lip while he was throwing a fit in his crib.  It was so sad--there was a lot of blood.  He went right to sleep after he calmed down.  He is pretty resilient after injuries.

Chilaxin'--watching a show.  The favorites are Huckle Cat, Dora, and Leap Frog's Amazing Alphabet.

October 2011

Halloween.....
Astronaut and Superman

Ramsey at the church Halloween party with friend Jacey.

Costume parade!

Matt being a cut-up.

Our first Jack-O-Lantern.  My first one in a LONG time--I have memories of going to Uncle John (my Dad's little brother) and Aunt Denise's house when I was a kid for a pumpkin carving party every year.

His expression is hilarious.  He liked the cape.

Here we are Halloween night getting ready to trick or treat.

Bella, looking forlorn.  She was sad we were leaving without her.

We went trick or treating with our neighbor and Ramsey's classmate Nate and his friend.  It was fun.

The after-party.

Check out the loot!

Blue Doggie loved his taste of candy.

Ramsey playing in the rain.

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and Ramsey loves curling up with Grandma to read.

At the doctor's office bustin' out an impromptu drum session.

Sidewalk chalk.

And, tights ruined.

We had so MANY leaves.  It took a lot of raking as well as use of the blower.  Our town picks up leaves off the side of the road, and they don't have to be in bags.  It is awesome.

Up in the neighbor's tree.

Playing in the leaves.

Here is Beck at Meadow Lane park.  You'll notice there is a little girl hugging Beck.  He is such a charmer.  He always manages to flirt his way into some cute girl's arms, it is amazing.

 Balance beam--precious girl.

Sometimes the kids ask to go to the old park and we love it.

Another bouncy house--this time Beck got in!

Bella at the pumpkin patch-sniffing the animals.  She was fairly calm.

Beck doing the dishes.  30 minutes of entertainment and several puddles.

 Raking as a family.
 A brief interlude...

Face decals!!!

The kids love wearing their Halloween shirts all October--these were from Grandma and Grandpa.

Neighborhood fun, with a little more bundling.
