Happy Mother's Day 2012

I visited Beck's class for Mother's Day--here he is painting on the easel in his class.

Look at the goodies these sweet teachers provided--Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Cook are the sweetest, cuddliest preschool teachers ever.  They were perfect for Beck.

We decorated flower pots and planted the flowers outside.  It was lovely.

Mommy and Beck.

He was too busy to pose :)

We went to Gettysburg for Mother's Day.  It was wonderful.

We found the cutest ice cream shop.  I had chocolate chip cookie dough, and it was the best ice cream I have ever had.  Normally, I'm not a big ice cream fan.

We did the car tour and saw amazing monuments to all of the soldiers that fought in the Civil War.
It was all breathtaking.

Matt told me that his gift to me for Mother's Day was to let me do what I wanted all day without "chiming in."  It was actually kind of confusing because I depend pretty heavily on Matt to be the decision maker around here.  It was really sweet and I had a blast!  I woke up that morning, said, "let's go to Philly" and Matt was like "OK," which was very strange.  After some research, I realized that it was too far for our day trip and suggested Gettysburg, and he just went along without complaint.  I planned everything--we went to the Land of Little Horses Farm Park, did the car tour of the civil war sights, and went to the cute ice cream parlor in the town, and went home.  It was peaceful and exciting!

Ramsey, ever the flower-picker.

Look at my handsome little man, all cleaned up for Mother's Day.

Cracker Barrel rocking chairs.

Lovely girl.

Checkers!  Each had to have their own checker board.  Sheesh.

I visited Ramsey's classroom for a Mother's Day celebration.

Circle time.

The kids performed two songs.  One went like this: "oh when my mom, oh when my mom gives me a hug, I know that I am special, when my mom gives me a hug" done to the tune of "When the Saints Go Marching In."  Ramsey was nervous that day, and asked that morning "what if I forget the words?"

She did such a great job.  To her left is her best friend these days Carolina (pronounced Caro-lee-na).
