Work and play

Ramsey is my kitchen helper.  She has fun doing the dishes, and I love the help.

Look at those monkey feet.  Love this girl!
I remember standing on a stool and doing the dishes when I was a little girl.

Beck's new favorite past-time is knocking over chairs.  There are often tears that follow (Ramsey's) because she uses those chairs to play with her ponies on the white cabinet.

He worked and worked to get in and out of Ramsey's rain boots.
Lots of grunting and frustration, but a big smile when he was successful.

I was using this sweeper in the kitchen, and Beck kept trying to grab it from me.
I figured I might as well give him a shot, and he was pretty good!

Beck has recently discovered coloring.  He looks up at the table and yells, "color!"
He isn't super accurate with coloring on the paper, but that's what the Magic Eraser is for, right?

What kind of mom lets her kids crawl on the furniture???  They like coloring together,
and there was usually a scuffle over who got to stand on the brown toddler seat until Ramsey
discovered the delight of sitting on top of the table.  You gotta pick your battles I say.

"Beck--please don't eat colors!  YUCK!"  Imagine repeating it 100 times a day.

They have just gotten back into getting on the swings.  I sing songs and Ramsey shouts, "higher!"
She could stay on the swings forever, but Beck doesn't last more 5 minutes usually.

Beck and Grandma.  We enjoyed Grandma's visit last weekend.  We went to the library, and Beck's first order of business was getting Grandma to read him a book.  He usually reads to himself, runs around, or asks another mom to read to him when we go to the library.  Ramsey and I read together,
and Beck plays or sidles up to another family.  One mom that I see there regularly commented,
"he's SO independent!"  It's true.

He loves looking at pictures, and usually points at our photo albums and yells, "book."  You'll notice I use the word "yell" frequently in this post.  Beck is very communicative, which is nice,
but he really knows only one volume-Brennan volume.  He's not angry, just loud.
He is actually quite jovial.  Definitely comes from my side of the family.

The local firemen gave the kids hats.  They were thrilled!

Beck wasn't keen on wearing the hat, but he had a lot of fun.  He also isn't keen on wearing socks.
